Prince Arthas Menethil and Blood Elf Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider had a tumultuous relationship long before their showdown at Icecrown Citadel during the events of Warcraft 3: the Frozen Throne. When the two were young, their animosity first started when Arthas stole Jaina's affection from Kael'thas during her studies in Dalaran.
